Eric Wesner was just awarded the APA Division 19 Student Research Grant ($1500) AND the Travel Award ($750), totaling $2250. Congratulations Eric!
ABHC director and distinguished research professor Dr. Brad Schmidt was awarded a $3.7 million dollar grant from the National Institute of Health National Institute of Aging (NIH-NIA) to test a brief, CBT-based intervention called cognitive anxiety sensitivity treatment (CAST) for people with mild cognitive impairment/mild Alzheimer's disease. Congratulations Dr. Schmidt!

Justine graduated from the University of Pittsburgh in 2018 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and minors in Neuroscience and Italian. She currently works as a clinical research assistant for the Rhode Island Methods to Improve Diagnostic Assessment and Services (MIDAS) Project at Rhode Island Hospital/Brown Medical School.

ABHC student Aoife Trotter was invited to present her IDEA grant research findings during "Research at the Capitol" day at the Florida state capitol! Aoife was able to discuss her recent research on the impacts of sexual violence on sexual and gender minority populations with several Florida state senators, including Sen. Lorrane Ausley. Way to go Aoife!

The ABHC is excited to welcome incoming graduate student Ted Schubert. Ted graduated from the University of Virginia (UVA) in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Cognitive Science and a minor in Health & Wellbeing. His primary research interests are focused on anxiety interventions and how behavioral economic strategies can be used to improve their acceptability, efficacy, and implementation. Additionally, he is interested in health outcomes associated with anxiety disorders and developing technology-based interventions.
